When we arrived at Driftwood Vineyards in Wimberly, Texas, the view was
spectacular. A young photojournalist student was taking pictures.

The view was better than the wine - however, it was cold enough that the
mulled wine was welcome.

Frida seems to be eyeing the shifty dudes at the corner table at the
Wimberley Mexican Restaurant where we had lunch.

Back at home, it's time for the Pinot Noir tasting. Shiner the Foodstock
Piñata
Longhorn is ready.

Ramesh has done a great job or organizing the tasting.
Pinot Noirs seem notoriously difficult to define. The tasting results will
be posted soon, but they differ a lot.

We end up at Picante Grill for Mexican Food - yum. My duck Vera Cruz was
excellent. Among those attending were Blake and Barbara, Sandra and Bill
Kurtin, Carol and Bill Cook, Lyn and Michael, and Ramesh.

What a good evening! Afterwards, we played music and talked, good
friends and good food.

Sunday morning, our son, Rick Riordan, stops by to say hello to Ramesh.

How much Mexican food can be consumed in one weekend? We go to El Mirador
for brunch to find out. They have an excellent omelets bar.

No visit to San Antonio would be complete without the obligatory stop at
the Alamo - it's one ritual that guarantees our guest will return. Thanks,
Ramesh, for a great Foodwine weekend.
