Jeannie Ralston, owner of Hill
Country Lavender Farm, invited me back to teach
seminars on Saturday and Sunday during the May Blanco
Lavender Fest. I met people from all over the state,
and some from out-of-state. Some were there to get
Jeannie's help in starting their own lavender fields,
and some were interested specifically in Aromatherapy
and why essential oil of lavender is so useful and
important. It was a lot of fun teaching the classes.

The stone farmhouse is a combination of old
barn and new additions.
|

Ironically, the fields themselves had not yet
bloomed because of an unusually cold spring, but
the land was green and lovely. Jeannie and her
husband have over 18,000 lavender plants in
several different locations on the farm and share
their knowledge of organic lavender farming with
people from all over.
|

My classroom was in the screened atrium next
to a huge stone fireplace.
|

We discussed the history of essential oil of
lavender and its many uses in Aromatherapy, in
complimentary medicine, and even in keeping the
household fresh.
|

After class, I visited Jeannie's gift shop to
see what new products the farm had to offer.
|

Goodbye to the Lavender Farm until next time -
it's always enjoyable to teach in such a
beautiful setting.
