Boxing Day at Becker Vineyards

Becker Vineyards near Fredericksburg, Texas held its annual Boxing Day celebration on December 26, and we were there to help celebrate. The sun came out after four or five long days of gray and rain, and the Hill Country never looked more beautiful.

The lavender fields stretched for acres and acres and the sky was bluebonnet blue as we drove into the vineyard entrance across from the lavender fields.

People were sitting on the long porch at the main building, drinking wine and listening to music.

The great fiddlers and the guitarist played traditional carols with a decided Texas twist.

Michael found us a spot on the porch, and also found a sunbeam on what had earlier been a very cold morning.

I joined him after sampling some of the snacks inside the main building, and then we found some friends . . .

. . .including this vineyard cat in the sage bush behind our bench.
