Crabbing in Rockport, Texas

It's a great, somewhat cloudy day in Rockport, when we meet with Bill and Carol at the old-time Sandra Bay Courts to spend a weekend of crabbing and cooking the catch, if any. Several of us remember being here with our parents.

Armed with only tangled up crab nets and a rather cheap bottle of red wine, Mikey gets ready to catch our supper.

In go the nets - time to hang out and see what develops.

and hang out . . and hang out.

But it works! We haul them in by the netload - twelve so far.
Documenting the catch - he looks mean. So do the crabs.
Is this a good move? I don't think so, but into the bucket goes the crab.

Now it's Bill's turn to check the nets.

Oops, they got the chicken necks and made their escape - tie on some more bait.
