This is truly decadent and simple, although the assembly can be messy (to say the least). Yep, "American Cheese" really does mean Velveeta.

Sandra's Cheese Squares

1 lb. butter

American Cheese (Blue Box) 1 lb.

2 loaves square sandwich bread

Cut crusts off sandwich bread. Stack and cut into quarters.

Grate cheese. Blend with butter in mixer. Put cheese & butter "icing" between stacks using four quarters per square, and on sides (not on bottom). Place on cookie sheet and freeze. When needed, cook at 375 F until browned slightly.
