Garden Journal 2002

This has been an incredibly busy spring, not much time to spend in the garden, and I am recording these images more for my journal than anything else. Included are the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

See Notes Below - thanks

Notes:

Upper left - the little culinary herb garden has gone gang-busters, especially the Clary Sage and Epazote.

Upper right - the Birdbath Garden is a mess - I need to clean out a bunch of stuff, including some Artemesia. But it gets morning sun and afternoon shade, which opens up a lot of possibilities.

Next on left - WOW! Thanks to friend Kathy Hale for this lovely rose which I grew from a cutting. It is an absolutely beautiful climber, and only two years old! She says it is Lamarque.

Next on right - this is the Good. My friend Paul Gates always provides us with wonderful yellow pear tomatoes. They are taking off!!

Next on left - Icheban Eggplant - again, I never get tired of these guys - I highly recommend this plant to anyone who likes eggplant. It is wonderful grilled, steamed, etc. I wish it would hurry up and produce!

Next on right -again from friend Kathy Hale - what the heck is eating my datura?? It's been like this for two years.

Finally on left - just some little Morning Glory seedlings - reminds me of my grandmother's farm.
