When we saw how great the front entry
room turned out, we asked Kurt for help with the roof of our back
deck, which was almost 20 years old and very grungy. We could not
have imagined the difference the new covering would make. Now the
space is watertight and bright, and the koi and plants are thriving.
Kurt used a combination of smoked and clear Plexiglas to create a
"skylight" area over the fish pond. The effect is magical. It is a
perfect place to read or have a cup of morning coffee.

You can see (left and below
left) how a 20-year-old fiberglass roof can deteriorate,
even past the point of being cleanable. The beams were also
too small for the span, and were replaced with larger ones.
You can also see how much the quality of light has improved
in the "after" pictures, below (right) and on the bottom
row.

For the first time, we can grow water
plants that need a little more light! On the right is a
picture that was taken in the middle of a rainstorm - the
new deck cover makes rain fun to watch.
