Spring Fix-up, Part One

For several years, our roof had leaked in the front room, causing damage to the walls and floor. The previous contractor had done a very bad job of repairing the leak just to collect the insurance money, as we were to discover. But help came in the form of old family friend, Kurt Wahrmund and his family-owned company, Artisans at Work. He showed us where roofing mistakes had been made and gave us a very realistic bid on fixing the roof. Not only did he do a great job with repairs, but he repainted the interior in a wonderful color, which made the whole space come to life. We were so impressed with his work that we contracted him to replace the cover on the back deck - see Spring Fix-up, Part Two. I recommend Kurt wholeheartedly to anyone in this area who needs a reliable contractor with a great sense of design.

After the roof was repaired and tested for leaks, the entry room was painted to match the tones in the Saltillo tile. With all of the natural light from the new skylights, everything looks warmer and brighter.

Even the old furniture and fountain look good in the new setting, and the plants do much better with brand-new skylights
