Key West Meets Michelle: An Unanticipated Adventure
Page Two

Earlier that day, we visited the airport to extend the rental car contract - a lucky thing, since there were no more cars available, and few flights out.
More evidence of boarding up at Fausto's the local grocery store. This is an "essential business," so we know the situation is serious.
On the drive back to the house, we see reporters at the Southernmost Point taking pictures of the waves washing over the seawall.
We evacuate early the next morning - Michael takes a break from the driving rain on the front porch of the house as we stack and load luggage - there is no chance for our scheduled flight, so we drive off the Key instead.
The streets are awash, but we make it up the highway without serious incident . . .
and on the way out of town, we see this sign - "Michelle, Put Up or Shut Up", propped up against a giant chicken. Good-bye, Key West - here's to better weather next time!
