March 19th - I made a small herb garden in one of the beds and planted four new herbs we bought at the Herb Society meeting yesterday. They are curly mint, lavender, holy basil, and cat thyme. The cat thyme (Teucrium marum) smells incredibly weird, but Walter and Champ went nuts over it when I brought it home and put it on the kitchen table. We'll see how long it lasts in the yard.

I also transplanted some artemesia (r.) next to the bird bath near a new bouganvilla. It should be a good ground cover if it takes off.
