These are my Garden Journal pages which will help me see which plants and herbs work this season and which do not. Feel free to visit - I plan to update it once a month during spring growing season.

Here is the Little Herb Garden (r.), with a gargoyle sprinkler which was a present from Bill And Carol Cook. Right now, it has kale and pansies. There are some cannas in the background, and a Bay Laurel tree which made it through the winter. Like all of our raised beds, it needs to be reconditioned.

The main herb garden (below, left) is bare bones right now, but will have tomatoes today and peppers later. What we have an abundance of right now is cilantro (below, right) which self-seeds every year. It's in its blossom stage, smells great, and is covered with honeybees. Local cilantro blossom honey is wonderful!

On the left is a closer view of the main herb garden. I put the tomatoes in today (3/16/99) and want to see what they look like in a month. This year I'm trying Celebrity, Sure Fire, and a yellow plum tomato that I got from a friend, Paul Gates, who has a great gardening program for his elementary school students.

I also put in some onion sets and annuals, as well as some African Blue Basil, which may do well in the Texas summertime.
