Birthday champagne for Chris in the Belisles' kitchen -
Michael made a very nice phyllo and artichoke
appetizer.

On Noverber 11, a
mini-foodstock was held at The Vineyards, a small restaurant
on the grounds of - yep, a vineyard - near San Antonio.
Present and accounted for were Michael and Lyn Belisle,
Chris and Dick Marksberry, and Chris and Sherry Christensen,
who were new to foodstocks, but not to the list. We
celebrated Chris Marksberry's birthday!
Happy Birthday,
Chris!!

The Christensens at the Vineyards - Chris C.'s amberjack
was the winner of the evening, although everything was
delicious.
|
After dinner, the chef himself obligingly took our
picture on the porch of the restaurant, which was once a two
story Hill Country house. We even had
leftovers!

|
The next day, we had lunch at the Carriage House
Restaurant, located on the grounds of the San Antonio
Botanical Garden. The food is exceptionally fresh and the
garnishes are spectacular. My sandwich plate was dressed up
with African Blue Basil springs and papaya blossoms - Chris
has her eye on it, although she said her tomato and basil
soup was quite good. It's a great place for lunch. And you
can walk off the meal in the garden
afterwards.
