Laurie Thompson, formerly of Syracuse and now a Texan (hooray!) met us for a mini-Foodstock on a warm late spring night in San Antonio. At the suggestion of Blake and Barbara, we tried Mando's Mexican Seafood Restaurant, a little bitty family place right downtown - it was good! Laurie brought her colleague, Jim., who fit right in - besides being head of a medical library in Chicago, he's also a cookbook collector!
