Sunday brunch at the historic Menger is
a San Antonio tradition. The gentleman next to Mary Hogan
was sitting by himself at a table in the back . Mary and
I asked him to join us, and he was a delightful addition
to our table. His name is Don - he came to the Menger
this particular morning because that was where he and his
wife had enjoyed brunch many years ago. Don had
fascinating stories to share.

Kathy and I decided that the tomato
basil soup was first-rate - we had about three bowls
each.

Foodwinos descended on it.

Greg, Michael and Kathy find their spot in the Menger
Hotel courtyard.
|

Lyn, Greg, and Kathy take a short stroll to the Alamo -
people are always surprised that it is right downtown
next to the Menger (and that it is so small).
|
We did final farewells on the Riverwalk
with the bridges and barges in the background - what an
excellent Foodstock! Thanks, everyone, and thanks
especially for treating us to brunch!
