SAN ANTONIO FOODSTOCK, MARCH 15-17, 2002

DAY ONE, FRIDAY: Ramesh arrives in San Antonio from St. Louis - we head straight to Little Hipps for burgers and . . .

. . .their famous Shypoke Eggs, which are not eggs at all, but nachos with two kinds of cheese.

Then it's out to the country to visit two vineyards, Sister Creek and Dry Comal Creek.

Our favorite is the 2000 Dry Comal Creek chardonnay.

Blake and Barbara join Lyn, Ramesh, and Michael at La Fogata for dinner - the wait for a table is a long one . . .

. . .but the food is worth is. Three of us had Chile Rellenos stuffed with chicken - yum.

Ramesh brings mariachis to our table to sing songs for Barbara and Lyn.

After dinner, it's back to Casa Belisle where Ramesh shares a bottle of Franciscan 1995 Library Reserve Cabernet. He takes notes and wears his special wine-tasting sombrero. Great wine! Great hat!
