Making Tamales on
New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve of 2007 found us in the country at  our good friends' house for a Tamalada. Between the eight of us, we must have made at least 20 dozen tamales, beef, chicken, and bean. Sandra, our hostess, made the job easy by having the masa and the fillings ready in advance.

Even so, the process is pretty labor-intensive. I will never take home-made tamales for granted again! All of got to take home a food supply, and they were the best I've ever had. Thanks, guys, for a wonderful (and delicious) New Year's experience!
