For five wonderful years, teaching in Painting With Fire has been one of the great joys of my creative life. Each year brought a new group of artists, a shared sense of discovery, and the deep, luminous language of encaustic—wax, fire, and intuition working together.
Stepping back for a year feels less like an ending and more like a turning. I’m allowing space to explore a direction that has been quietly calling to me: Objects of Devotion. This work gathers many threads from my past—vessels, fragments, memory, and meaning—into a more personal and evolving practice.

While I’ll be stepping back from teaching in the coming year, I’m happy to share that the first five years of Painting With Fire (2021–2025) remain available as online workshops at reduced tuition rates. These sessions continue to offer a rich and accessible foundation in encaustic techniques, composition, and creative exploration. If you’ve ever been curious about working with wax—or would like to revisit and deepen your practice—this is a wonderful opportunity to learn at your own pace while exploring the depth and beauty of this medium.
